A2- Media Studies Introduction

Today was the first lesson of the practical side of the course. We have been given a choice of 3 different briefs we would like to use in our coursework. The choice we were given were, a music package, a film package and a short film. I have chosen to work on my own on the music package, i have close connections to a band who i know will be happy to let me use their track. The music the band produce is of the indie genre. The band is called Scratches Law. The reason why i know they will be able to let me use the track is because i wrote the song for them. I have watched them play this song a lot of times and i am positive they have a copy of their track on their myspace page. I am now starting the research on how similar band have made their music videos and the codes and conventions of these videos.
